Calahonda went 3 nil up when Roman, who had a fine game produced another superb finish late in the game. Malaga pulled a consolation goal back in the dying minutes.

*Game 2-*
Santos 1 – Calahonda 3

Calahonda started off well, with good ball possession & lots of attempts at goal. Hans showed some nice touches, Roman looked a threat. With Trevor R controlling the game from centre midfield, it was no surprise when Roman scored with another fine finish. Javi was disciplined on the left hand side of midfield, with Boni calm and solid in goal. Calahonda added a second goal through a Trevor R rocket left footer. Santos quickly got a goal back before a Simon Dunkley curler who had stepped forward out of defence to get the decisive third goal.

*Game 3*
Newalls 4 - Calahonda 2

A game Calahonda really should have won having gone one nil up through another fine finish from Roman.Newalls pulled a goal back with some slack Calahonda defending.Calahonda dug in & started to regain momentum with Trevor scoring a lovely goal to go 2-1 up.Calahonda should have put the game to bed when Trevor R uncharacteristically missed from the penalty spot.Calahonda quickly conceded to make it 2-2 before losing their shape and discipline.Newalls went on to score two more goals to take a deserved win.

*Game 4-*
Santos 60s 0- Calahonda 3

Calahonda were under the impression if they won this game, they would end up winning the completion. On points standing, they were in top spot. Calahonda regained their shape and composer in this game. Trevor B started the game and made a telling contribution. With a clear focus and motivation to take top spot, Calahonda were rampant as the 3-0 scoreline could have been greater. Trevor Roman & Simon Dunkley firing home three glorious goals to win the game.

*Final*
Calahonda 0-1 Newalls

However once the final whistle was blown, Calahonda were told to go straight back out on the pitch to play the “final”???. We contested that we were unaware of this, having thought we had won the tournament. A fresher looking Newalls trotted back out to take a 1-0 victory with Calahonda out on their feet, after a gutsy effort.5 games on an extremely warm day, some good football, great effort & a few learning points to impact through the course of the season.
